Detroit Zoo, Savings and Zoo Park Description for 2024


The Detroit Zoo opened its doors in 1928 officially. The zoo is operated by The Detroit Zoological Society who also operates the Belle Isle Nature Center. There are a wide variety of animals including mammals, fish, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. This zoo also provides many different attractions including the Giraffe Encounter, the carousel, the 4D theater and much more.

They also provide many educational programs as well as group and private events. Visitors can also support the zoo by becoming a member, volunteering, or even giving to the zoo. The zoo also allows for rental of it for private events such as birthday parties, weddings, and more.
