Peoria Zoo (Glen Oak Zoo), Savings and Zoo Park Description for 2024

The Peoria Zoo, which used to be named Glen Oak Zoo, is part of the Peoria Park District and is open every day except for the holidays of Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, and New Years Day. This zoo has been an accredited part of The Association of Zoos and Aquariums since 1976. Back in 2009, the Zoo not only changed its name from Glen Oak Zoo to Peoria Zoo but it also opened its new Africa Exhibit which almost doubled it in size.

There are now many events, programs, and amenities for anyone to enjoy. Some of the events include special events, weddings, and even birthday parties. For wedding and birthday events, anyone can rent the zoo for these special occasions. Some of the programs include classes, tours, camps, and much more. Some of the amenities those who visit can enjoy include private rooms and the lodge, the gift shop, a giraffe feeding deck, and much more.
